I've been told that a 2 to 1 ratio of calcium to phosphorous is number 1. Then a number of vitamins and minerals that work together. Low salt is imporant because if there is a ton of salt there is not any room for anything else. Selenium is very important as well but you dont want a lot of it.Originally Posted by Mr.BowJangles

I agree salt is way over rated in mineral sites. Deer like salt and will go to salt licks, but there is much more you can do for the health of your herd. Key vitamins are a must. I bet you will get more deer coming in to the low salt sites compared to the high salt sites to.
